The View From Kalm Krest
Kalm Krest is a beautiful old house located in Mebane, North Carolina.
It was built in the 1850s by Dr. Benjamin Franklin Mebane who raised his family there. It was also the location of his medical practice. Dr. Mebane’s daughter, Mary Belle, married James Edwin Scott in 1885, joining together two of the pioneer families of the Hawfields section of Alamance County. This video tells their intriguing and ultimately tragic story.
